As it’s all coming to a close, I’m forced to look back through all the years I’ve known you. You helped me become who I am today. You keep me on my toes, regardless if I wanna be there or not. There’s really no better way to describe you other than my backbone. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. Yes, I know we all fight with each other, and we all screw up. But I like to think about the good things. We can all come together when need be. I know we don’t always follow through, but if one of us needed something, we could call each other and have it in a heartbeat. This time, when that final bell rings, we won’t ever be coming back in those halls to meet again. We can’t decide our futures from here. One goes left, and the other goes right. This may be the home stretch, but it’s so bittersweet. I can’t taste it. Let’s just face it, I don’t wanna lose all of you guys. You’re my family now. I’ve known you through the good, the bad, and the ugly. We’ve never had a day this big. There’s no feeling like it. So, I ask you, “When will I see you again?” The answer is something I fear. It’s all your decision. I just hope, that maybe, we’ll stay close. I’ll miss you guys.

Love,

There’s always a part of you that wants something more. Learning to accept the fact that you’re only one person who can do only so much isn’t something we as humans are entitled to knowing. As you’re reading fiction and watching fantasy films, you find yourself imagining what it would be like to have the same life as your hero or villain. As you continue on with your obsessions, you begin to quote them, and maybe even make the same decisions they would have. The funny thing is that as soon as reality hits you, everything changes. You’re being forced to think for yourself, fend for yourself and ultimately be your own person. God created us to be individuals. When you try and become something you’re not, the perspective of your friends and family changes almost instantly. Imagine one of your friends saying, and doing things like their favorite character in a movie. After a while you would soon get to the point where you’d stop talking to them. Everything they say is the same as it was last time. You’re made to be unique. Every person has their own talents and abilities. You can’t change who you are, just so you can be like your role-model. When you were younger, you saw yourself as whatever you watched on television that morning. It may be a super hero, or maybe even a dinosaur. Kids, unlike adults, are supposed to have this creative attitude towards everything they are involved in. God made them that way, so they can grow up, and figure out on their own who they’re supposed to be. He finds the perfect personality long before you were even born. Everything has some kind of design. God makes no mistakes. When you’re born into a family with problems, it’s more than likely because He’s using that for a greater purpose. God’s only plan is to love each and every one of His children, just as He loved Jesus. Because of the vast amount of areas you can study in college, kids my age are being taught that you can be anything you want to be. The catch is, is that what God wants? Sometimes you just don’t know. God will wait for the perfect time to explode into your life. He’s right there waiting. Nothing in this world can hold Him back. Throughout your life, you will be faced with tough decisions, bad calls, relationships gone terribly wrong, temptations, and anything under the sun to throw you off course. Just know that through all of those trials, God is making a beautiful human being out of it. He has a plan. No matter whom stands in your way, remember: God stands taller. He towers over any competition you may face. Trust Him and He’ll guide you through anything that comes your way. He has no intention of leading you in the wrong direction. He opens doors, only to close the wrong ones. He has a time and a place for every item of business on his agenda. Don’t doubt Him. Someday you’ll end up wondering what it would be like if you hadn’t taken the path God was calling you to. That moment, right then and there, is when you as a person have reached the point of maturity. Nothing else can faze you. You’ll be able to discern right from wrong so much easier, and God will be clearly audible. Your journey will become smooth and each path will be open. You’ll never be unsure of where God is leading you. You must stand tall and remember: God is always there. He’s walking you through this crazy place we call existence. He loves you. More than any other person has ever, or will ever love you. Arms open, He’s waiting for you to find Him.
