Please join Pastor Steve Hohm and DCS in congratulating James Reynolds as he becomes our new Decatur Christian School Middle School Principal. Jim began teaching at DCS in the fall of 2007. Over the years he has taught 12th grade Bible, Accounting, Entrepreneurship (Blü Brew), Economics, Political Science, Consumer Education, Math 6, Pre-Algebra, and 6th grade Bible. Jim also served as Finance Director from 2018-2021.
Jim has taught Accounting classes at Richland Community College. He is retired from serving as budget director for the Department for Local Government for the State of Kentucky. He is an active member of his church, and has helped in community outreach programs and communion service team.
Jim holds a B.A. in Accounting from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Jim is married to Mary Kay and they have three children and three grandchildren.

DCS re-entry plan for fall classes The administration and school board of Decatur Christian School have worked through our plan for opening school on schedule for on-site instruction for the 2020-2021 school year. The scheduled move to Phase 4 for the State of Illinois on June 26th would clear the way for a return to classes on-site at our regularly scheduled school start date of August 17th. There will be modifications to our normal operating procedures including temperatures being taken at the school doors and also following guidelines for group sizes for our chapels and other events. Exploring the Depths, the Hope of the Light Fall 2019 Theatre Production Secondary students took to the stage for Macabre: Tales from Edgar Allan Poe by Jules Tasca and directed by DCS Fine Arts teacher Mrs. Dodson. The production featured four of Poe's lesser-known short stories: "William Wilson", "The Valdemar Case", "The Imp of the Perverse", and "The System". The Theatre Arts class led the way with a variety of middle and high school students among the cast and crew. The focus question for this production was, "What is mankind without God's grace?"
