On November 9, 2019 the Central East Division of Illinois First Robotics met at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building in Urbana, Illinois. There were ten teams that participated in this event where teams were paired with a different team each round of the day. There were five rounds of competition, and working together was an important feature of the day. In the end, our DCS MechWarriors placed fifth out of ten teams. Students Pray at DCS Flag Pole Each year students around the globe gather at their school flag pole to pray for God's blessing and guidance in the world. The event is called See You at the Pole and it happened this year on September 23rd. Prayers topically range from things like national leaders, local leaders, families, schools, and friends. At Decatur Christian this year, students met in several groups for fifteen minutes up to about half an hour. COVID-19 restrictions do not allow for groups of more than 50 at a time in one space. Friends of DCS Annual Holiday Banquet Thursday, November 21, 2019 was the second annual Friends of DCS Annual Holiday Banquet at LIFE Foursquare Church, 2954 W. Ash Avenue in Decatur, Illinois. We had a great evening together with students who served tables, lead worship, and also spoke. At the conclusion of the evening, those attending gave donations and made pledges to support the mission of Decatur Christian School.
